ALAN REID has been at the heart of 'Battlefield Band since the very early days in 1969. He has seen them grow from pub band in the west of Scotland to an internationally acclaimed concert group, pre-eminent among the huge wave of performers that now perform 'Celtic music' all over the world. Many great musicians have passed through the ranks of Battlefield Band, giving and gaining much from the experience. The one constant factor has always been Alan Reid, singer/keyboards.
In this volume Alan has chosen his favourite traditional songs from those he has sung and recorded, but mainly this is a document of the considerable body of the songs and tunes that he has composed over the years. Many have become Battlefield Band classics and are becoming part of the modern folk repertoire.
